Beggar’s Opera, adapted by Václav Havel

The Barnard Slavic and Theatre departments, in conjunction with Columbia University’s Harriman Institute, presented Václav Havel’s adaptation of John Gay’s The Beggar’s Opera. One of many events during the Havel residency at Columbia in 2006, the production—featuring actors, large puppets and live music—culminated a city-wide festival of the complete plays of Havel.
